God is all-powerful, and He is in charge of everything; he makes the rules. When we break God’s laws, there will be consequences, absolutely, and when we obey God and follow His rules He blesses, it is very straightforward.
A major principle of living life in relationship with others is in Romans 12. It says, “forgive others, never get caught up in vengeance, and do good to those who mistress you.”
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
If a person would consistently live by the principles in Romans 12 God would become very active in our life situations bringing about justice for us. But when we take matters into our own hands God steps out of the picture and says, “You think you can take care of your life, I will let you try.”
