If I go fishing tomorrow and limit out on Chinook salmon is that a good day? If I go through today and I am self-controlled in my eating and exercise a lot and lose two pounds, is that a good day? If I go through today and nothing unexpected happens and everything goes as planned, that for sure sounds like a good day. The apostle Paul describes a good day as one where the gospel is heard and understood. Paul is in prison and he writes and says that the gospel has spread because of his imprisonment, that makes it a good day.
Philippians 1:12-13 Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel, so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else,
So, how is your day going? Catch any fish, lose any weight, is everything going as planned? But what about the gospel? What about Jesus being better known through me and you? On that basis my day has been lousy, not much has changed in any person’s heart or life because of what I have done or said today. I want my life to make a huge difference in the lives of many people. I will pray every morning and ask God to give me opportunities to influence people even if that means no fish, and I will pay attention so that I don’t miss any open doors.

First opportunity to substitute at Albany Christian School this year. What a blessing to be able to teach about the Wonderful Friend and Helper we have in the
Holy Spirit!
Quite a contrast with the public school where I lost my license and was removed from my position for talking to a little girl about Jesus, 20 years ago….
