Kate Brown

I see that our governor has made some new rules. I am not allowed to have more than six people in my house and not more than two different families, which is over Thanksgiving. She says that she will be enforcing this new rule with Oregon State Police and local law enforcement personal.

I wonder where the line is, that rule which is too much, too far. In the book of Acts, the government told Peter to quit preaching the gospel, and he said, ”what do you think, should I obey God or you?” In the book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible, the Pharoah of Egypt commanded all parents to kill their boy babies; Moses’s parents didn’t obey. In the book of Daniel, Shadrach and his two buddies refused to bow down and worship Nebuchadnezzar, and they were thrown into a fiery furnace, and they lived to tell the story to their grandchildren. Daniel was ordered not to pray, and he prayed anyway, so they threw him into the lion’s den, but he survived miraculously but his accusers didn’t fare so well, they were thrown in and eaten alive.

Revelation 13:15-17 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.

What is this control about?

Verse 15 says that they will worship the antichrist because to blindly obey is to worship.

Our government is controlling people by creating fear in them, by threatening them with consequences, by shaming them, and by peer pressure. Dr Fauci was quoted last week as saying, ”be a responsible citizen and just do what you are told.” The media has communicated huge amounts of skewed, biased, and false information in order to create this mass hysteria, this fear of catching COVID and dying. Face book, Twitter, Google, and YouTube have censored and banned almost all contrary information.

Thousands of doctors and scientists have published documents and signed documents that say the consequences of lockdowns are worse than catching COVID, that we are just postponing the inevitable, and that masks do no good. But they are all censored and banned.

Kate Brown is not ordering me to not have my family over for Thanksgiving because she is concerned for my health, she is ordering me to obey her because she aspires to be a god.

I couldn’t agree with you more, when they start telling us what we can’t and can do in our homes, you know that it is a power struggle. And you know that they are seeing just how far they can push us before we rise up and say, “ENOUGH”.

I’m not referring to Facebook policies I’m referring to the uptick in viral cases that perhaps we are able to help with? I feel our egos have taken over I’m guilty of this. I’m talking about science and loss of lives that maybe in our small but meaningful way we can help with. Love thy neighbor?

I agree with you Aletha I just dont know why all governors that want to shut down have to wait days to do it. Get er done so we can get over this mess all the extra days just give the virus more host.

Yes. My niece had a baby shower Saturday and no one wore masks. I did not go because I think COVID would be hard on me. We just found out someone has been diagnosed with COVID. Everyone there should quarantine for 14 days. We shall see.

A great blog Pastor. I want to let you know I’m sick with a cold. So I will miss being at church.

That last paragraph is so very true. Queen Kate has no concern for anyone’s health but her own. She is doing this because she is driven by power and greed. She’s proven this even outside this china virus thing. Look at her decision making during some of the previous sessions. I doubt the OSP will really do anything. These mandates are just that, mandates. They are not law. Only the legislature can create laws.

I agree/hear with what you are saying. But I also work in the medical field and I’ve seen what this virus can do to people, to families. . Its is so contagious. It is hard.. and it seems like a blurred line between what God’s word says and what we are being ‘ordered’ to do. The Bible also tell us “authorities that exist have been established by God” and we are to respect them. . .I also want to love my fellow humans like the Bible “orders” us to do, I want them to be safe I don’t want to be that one person that is asymptomatic and infects people that are around me. It is great to be in the Lords house and all worshiping together. When they finally let us back in church last summer, I was crying the entire time because I missed it so much. Just to be able to walk in the doors again, I was in tears!.. But it was also wonderful to still be able to hear my pastor on- line or the radio. I know what you wrote is true God’s word states exactly what you wrote those are true stories/quotes. And I love the Lord with all my heart….but for me I am choosing love. To care about my fellow humans. We are his temple, we are the church, we are his lambs , we are to love one another and care for each other, and lift each other up. So I am staying home, wearing my mask and limiting my contacts, because I want to be able to visit my aunt and uncle in the nursing home. I want empty hospital beds, I want to protect high risk people. Instead of having everyone at my house for Thanksgiving dinner we will still be eating together, thanks to Zoom. Its not the same, but its a great option. because I am high risk and my family loves me. It is frustrating when someone, who I don’t think is even a Christian, is invading our home life. But is getting angry/upset about it the answer? Maybe it is also just my way of viewing this situation. I don’t feel ‘locked down’.. I can go for a walk, a drive, ride my bike, get take out, still visit and see people (while wearing a mask and social distancing) Talk on the phone, chat on the computer, Zoom. I can still go shopping (but make it a trip for multiple items). It honestly has opened my eyes to new things, like finding a new hobby! . I have taught my self to crochet and made 5 baby blankets to give to new parents, I have fostered some cats, my house is cleaner than its been in a long time. Ive played games, done baking. There are other options for us. Its just (hopefully) for 2 weeks. I can do that. I can care that much, I don’t like it either, But I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God is greater than this and in his perfect timing he will do something amazing with these people/government, with this situation, with this virus, that we will be in awe about! . I choose love because I feel I am doing God’s will and also respecting the Governor’s orders too.

I wouldn’t drive if possible. More people die per day in car accidents. Park your cars forever. There are some ugly things to be seen from car accidents also but the roads are full and dealers keep selling more. Now what.

If your on the way to gramma’s house for Thanksgiving and you do happen get in a car accident, or loose control of your car in the rain and fog ,or meet up with a drunk driver. or how about you have a heart attack, or stroke or a bad fall, , appendicitis,, or one of the million other things that need immediate medical attention ( since we are doing analogies here) and you need an ambulance to take you to the hospital or even if you can have someone drive you……it maybe a very looooong wait for a bed or possibly another ambulance or car ride to another city to another hospital that does have an open bed,. but may not be equipped to care for your injuries or illness. That is how bad this is!!!! Its not a hoax, its not political, its not a power trip. Its real!

        Hi Karen,
There are 4 doctors in my church, 4 nurses, and a hospital administrator that I get information from almost weekly on the state of the pandemic in Oregon and in our country. I get real numbers of positive cases, how many in hospitals, how long the stay, and number of deaths. Where are you getting your information? Their opinion to a person is that it is a hoax, and it is political.

    Pastor Dee,
I have a pretty large family, as you do, and Thanksgiving is always a wonderful time for everyone to gather and give thanks for all we have. Plus it’s always a hoot with the grandkids going crazy and tearing though the house. As a result of the latest edict from the Queen, we have agreed to cancel the Thanksgiving celebration for our family this year.
In its place, I am planning a peaceful protest of the latest effort by Queen Kate and am inviting my all my progeny to join in this act of civil disobedience. And since it’s going to be a rather long protest, I’m providing some bacon wrapped turkey and all the trimmings. I’ve encouraged everyone else to bring anything they may want to eat, drink, and share with their kinfolk.

    Long live the King (Jesus)

    Pastor Duke,
“Kate Brown…. aspires to be a god.” How do you know that? Have you had a conversation with her? What if she is truly trying her best to keep Oregonians alive? I do not know her exact motives, and I don’t necessarily agree with her, but I do know we are to love God and our neighbors – and Kate Brown is our neighbor and elected official. Your statements are bold and harsh. Jesus, who came during a Roman occupation, spent no energy preaching or fighting against it, but instead taught His followers to go the extra mile and extend love even to their enemies.
