Oh no!!!

I lost 45 lbs on my bicycle trip to Portland, Maine, 230 lbs to 185 lbs. I have been determined not to gain any back. It was to painful to lose. Tonight I weighed in at 200 lbs, I have gained 15 lbs back!!! I am so disgusted with myself, I can’t believe I have let this happen!!! I am committing to ramp up the exercise and really take control of my eating. I can’t lose this contest with my own flesh! Help me Lord!

I have recently started wearing a Garmin Vivofit, it tells me how many steps taken, calories burned, miles walked, step goal for the day, time, date and came with a heart monitor so it can show that as well. The Vivofit and other Garmin devices can connect with Garmin connect and will keep record of everything and accessible on computer, iPhone and iPad; it also connects to another app/site called My Fitness Pal for recoring what you have eaten and may help in your battle. I am hoping that it will help with mine. Also the Daniel Plan is excellant in helping educate what kinds of food support weight loss. Good luck Dee!

Hi, Dee.  (Robert from Fairbanks, here).   I hear ya!  I have a similar struggle with my weight…   I was wondering if you have any goals related to keeping you weight down that are more specific than “ramp up the exercise” and “take control of my eating”?   I have three eating goals for weight loss:

No eating after dinner at least 5 days a week Eat less than I normally would at dinner (which essentially means no second helpings) at least 5 days a week No sugar (except natural sugar like fruit) unless:

It is something really unique, like a unique homemade desert, and even then, only one small serving. It is a special occasion like a holiday or birthday (having friends over for dinner is not ‘special’ enough) (and if you have a lot of birthday parties, you might need to limit to one small serving) I have lost about 6 pounds in the last three months or so…  It is slow, but it is a better trend than my normal trend which is gaining a pound or two a month…  🙂
