Walking the Bike

Several of you who are reading these posts have asked about why I push my bike so much. Three reasons; 1. I have a balance problem as a consequence of my Parkinson’s and when I get much below 5 mph I wobble all over the place, which makes the drivers coming up behind me very nervous, makes me nervous as well, so when I get down to a low speed because of a steep hill I get off and push the bike. 2. Gives my behind a break to walk a little bit so I jump at the chance, and 3. I get to panting and puffing like a train and sweating like a horse pedaling up those hills so I take a break and walk. As I get more and more in shape I will pedal more and walk less, and it won’t be long before we are on the other side of the mountains and FLAT!

You bet! Each state should have its own similar web page and some of them have apps, as well. Now, I haven’t checked it for your 8/7 journey, as I’m unsure where you’re headed; I checked it last night to see how the 8/6 trip would be. Take care!

What?!? Maybe they should try riding a bicycle up a steep grade in 90+ degree heat (wearing a bike helmet that holds the heat IN!), be 65, w/Parkinsosn, and gobs of butt-butter isn’t helping… then maybe they wouldn’t ask that question. Only a week in but you are already an over-comer in our book… and our hero!

Hey Dee we make an antiseptic gel here at Tec Labs that will help your butt problems. Helps heal faster and has lidocaine for the pain.Just let me know if you would like some and where to send it. I am coming to Idaho Friday but I think you will be past Lewiston by then. Any ways let me know and I will try to get some to ya. Love ya and praying for all of you. Fun to follow your bike ride. Hang in there going to get better.
