Getting Older

2 Corinthians 5:2-3. in this body we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven. . .For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened,

Yesterday and today I cut, split, threw, hauled, and stacked firewood. I am now sitting in my recliner groaning, longing for my new, glorified body. I think the reason that we ache more, and get stiff more as we get older is to remind us that we are headed for a new life where everything is new, wonderful, strong, and feels great.

Philippians 3:20-21
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

So, even though our body feels terrible, we rejoice because it won’t be long now until the joy that we feel and the strength we will have will be incomprehensible.

Thank you very much for this particular subject, I will be 86 shortly and my body keeps asking me you are going to do what!!! Just try it! Looking forward to that day with the new body God has picked out for me.

Thank you, Dee, for your comments today on getting older and having aching bodies longing to be in the presence of our Lord, Jesus.
Being here in SoCal and Tempe, AZ with three of our children and trying to keep up with our 15, 13, 11, 6 and 4 year old grandchildren here has Kathleen and me worn out at the end of each day but enjoying every precious moment with our family. We’re grateful as well that the older three g’kids know and our walking with their Savior and Lord, Jesus. The younger two, in their home and at their church, are also growing in their knowledge of Who Jesus is and how much He loves them.
Lord willing, we will be back safely in OR on Aug. 12.
    In Christ,
    Dave

Amen and again I say amen?!
My new goal to be less grumpy even now that I have to live with this cancer stuff.
Had I passed on the surgery table I myself would have won the prize, now that I have been left here to enjoy my family and friends as well as get more work done for the Kingdom I also win!
How do you argue with a win win outcome?
It’s so great knowing that for sure and thats only possible by having faith in Christ.
